Inside me
Pressure is not only for the young. It is the team, the family, the friends who expect a yes. There is a way out — often walking away, saying no, or fetching someone you trust. You have been given power, love and a sound mind. A no can cost a moment. A yes against your conscience can cost more.
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
What it means
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common. God is faithful. He provides a way out.
How you can live it
The way out is often: walk away, say no, get help. You are not the first to feel the pressure.
rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer;
What it means
Joy here is not that everything is fun. It is that hope still has a place when it hurts. Patience and prayer are how you stay — not how you pretend it is easy.
How you can live it
On a hard day: hold on to one hope, take the next step with patience, and pray a short prayer. Not everything at once.
For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
What it means
The knot in your stomach is not a gift from God. What he gave is power to take a step, love that stays, and a mind that can say no. Fear may visit. It does not get to name you.
How you can live it
When the pressure hits: power, love, a sound mind — not cowardice. Take the way out.
A prayer
Jesus, give me a steady mind when others push. Show the way out, and give me courage to take it. Amen.
