Work and pressure
News, mail, what you should not be looking at. What you look at for a long time settles in the heart. The screen is not automatically sin — but the heart deserves care. You may turn it off. You may choose what is true and clean, also on an ordinary evening.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
What it means
Fill your thoughts with what is true, pure, right and worthy of honour. What you look at long becomes inner climate.
How you can live it
Choose what you scroll. Close a voice that tears down. Fill with something true instead — a verse, a talk with a friend, a walk.
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.
What it means
Guard your heart, for from it flow the springs of life. What enters shapes what leaves.
How you can live it
Guard what you watch and listen to this evening. Your heart is worth it.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.
What it means
Allt har han gjort skönt i sin tid. Även evigheten har han lagt i människornas hjärtan. Längtan efter mer är inte fel.
How you can live it
När skärmen inte fyller: det är okej. Du är gjord för mer. Sök det hos Gud och i riktiga samtal.
A prayer
Jesus, help me guard my heart. Give me courage to put the screen down and rest. Amen.
