Relationships
There are people who tear down, and those who make life brighter. Faith, hope and love show in how you take care of each other. Celebrate them. Say thank you. Rebook that evening. Be that kind of friend back.
Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance.
What it means
Iron sharpens iron. Real friends make each other braver and more honest.
How you can live it
Choose company that builds. Be that friend for someone else.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
What it means
This is not a personality test. It is what starts growing when God lives in you — patience in the queue, kindness in the chat, self-control when everyone else says yes.
How you can live it
Pick one fruit to practise today — patience in the queue, kindness in a message.
But now faith, hope, and love remain — these three. The greatest of these is love.
What it means
Feelings come and go. Faith, hope and love are what you can still choose when the feeling has left. Love is the one that still does something.
How you can live it
Measure the day in love: who was met kindly? Not in how popular you were.
A prayer
God, thank you for those who make life brighter. Help me be that kind of friend. Amen.
